Sounds and noises make a significant contribution to the quality of the environment. Some sounds, like bird song and running water, have a peaceful quality; others can be disturbing, irritating or even frightening. What sounds can the pupils hear? Do the sounds differ from place to place and time to time? Can they record sounds they hear and explain what they are?
