ei* gilydd = each other (they)

â’i gilydd = as each other (they), e.g.

           

Maen nhw mor blentynnaidd â’i* gilydd. 

They are as childish as each other.

*ei gilydd, rather than eu gilydd, as you might expect.

This is the only time you should use a singular pronoun when it refers to a plural subject.
